"Carl-Zeiss-Gymnasium," Jena: A State High School with Specialized Classes in Mathematics, Science, and Technology
As a partially compulsory full-day school, our school is dedicated to supporting (highly) gifted students in the STEM subjects (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics). Additional hours in specialized subjects, mandatory computer science classes, and small science groups for experimentation enable individualized support, as do elective courses. Various projects and field trips contribute to personal development. Participation in competitions is expected. There is a boarding school where students can live starting in ninth grade. By gradually developing scientific research skills, we foster students’ academic readiness. The school collaborates with the city’s scientific institutions.
