"Ernst-Abbe" State High School, Jena
We are a general-education high school with a focus on the natural sciences. Our Abbe Competition, participation in the Math, Chemistry, and Physics Olympiads, and our offerings in the natural sciences, technology, and computer science as elective-required courses reflect this focus.
We are a school with heart and courage. We place great importance on treating one another with respect and kindness. Regular visits to the theater and concerts, as well as field trips, class trips, language study trips, student exchanges, ski camps, choir camps, and a work experience program are all part of school life. For the duration of 5th and 6th grade, we offer the “Wind Instrument Class” music track.
Classes run into the early afternoon. Student performance is evaluated through grading.
