"Friedrich Schiller" Public Elementary School, Jena
Intercultural learning, Erasmus+, and European student exchanges are the hallmarks of our “European School.” All children begin learning English as a foreign language in first grade and French in third grade.
Our instruction is differentiated according to students’ learning levels and structured using daily and weekly schedules, station-based learning, workshop and project-based work, learning stations, or traditional teaching methods. “Challenging and supporting” students is important to us as part of our inclusive education approach. We participate in the “People Empower People” program.
Our music project takes place during the early school years. Media education, environmental education, extensive after-school and recreational care, as well as collaboration with many network partners, are all part of our school’s profile.
