"Jenaplan-Schule" Public Comprehensive School, Jena
The school is an inclusive educational institution for all children. The school week begins on Monday at 8:00 a.m. with morning circle and ends with the end-of-week celebration on Friday at 1:30 p.m.
As a partially full-day school, students attend classes from Monday through Thursday until at least 3:25 p.m. The after-school care program and the AK Jenaplanpädagogik e. V., which oversees the school’s youth programs, offer numerous extracurricular clubs after school.
A key teaching method is project-based learning in mixed-age core groups. Up through 6th grade, performance is assessed through verbal evaluations. Starting in 7th grade, performance is additionally graded with numerical grades.
