"Kaleidoskop" Public Comprehensive School, Jena
The Kaleidoskop School’s educational approach is based on the Jenaplan. The Monday morning circle and Friday celebration provide the framework for a structured curriculum tailored to each child’s learning level. Cross-age learning in core groups, differentiated subject instruction, and a strong emphasis on project-based learning are central to the educational concept.
In the first six grades, students and parents receive regular verbal feedback on the student’s learning and developmental progress; starting in 7th grade, this feedback is supplemented with grades.
In this partially mandatory full-day school, classes are held in the afternoon (8:15 a.m.–2:35/3:30 p.m.), along with a wide range of extracurricular clubs and diverse activities offered by the after-school care team (6:30 a.m.–5:00 p.m.).
