"UniverSaale" Jena - Independent Comprehensive School

At our school, students come from a wide variety of backgrounds.

For subject-specific instruction, we have developed learning, course, study, and workshop periods to support not only subject-specific learning but also the systematic development of key competencies such as independence, interpersonal skills, problem-solving, and goal orientation. The core school day begins at 7:45 a.m. with the morning circle and ends at 3:00 p.m. (2:00 p.m. on Fridays) after students have completed their rotating duties.

Supervision is provided between 7:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. We do not assign numerical grades until the 9th grade. We write detailed, individualized report cards and hold regular meetings with students and parents.
