Registration at secondary schools for the 2019/2020 school year
All pupils in the current 4th grade with their main residence in Jena have received a school registration form by post in the last few weeks. This must be handed in when registering at the school of choice. No legal claim to admission to this school can be derived from the registration.
When registering at a grammar school or a community school, it is essential to bring along the half-year report or the recommendation for the grammar school course. Trial lessons are held for pupils without a recommendation. Parents can obtain information about trial lessons at the registration desk and on the website of the East Thuringia State Education Authority in Gera.
Pupils whose main residence is not registered in Jena must always submit an expression of interest to the school of their choice. The forms are available in the Jena schools and can also be found on the city's website. Pupils from the city of Jena are given priority.
Students currently attending a Jena community school in year 4 can remain at this school by submitting an application.
Further information on the "Open Days" at the Jena schools and the registration times can be found on the website of the respective school.
