"Jena Workshop School"
Many young people lack a connection to “real life” in their school experience. It is not made clear enough to them how what they are learning will be useful to them later on. The Werkstattschule Jena offers a high proportion of hands-on learning environments and practical learning opportunities with the goal of showing students a wide range of practical applications and empowering them to discover and develop their own skills.
To achieve this goal, we develop strong partnerships with the skilled trades, industry, and the social sector. The relevance of the curriculum becomes apparent when a connection to real-world practice is established from the very beginning, experienced firsthand, and becomes the focus of reflection guided by the school.
